
DNA is a contemporary dance company founded in 2013 in Bologna by Elisa Pagani, supported by MIC, the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Bologna. The company operates nationally and internationally through artistic productions, training and community dance projects, developing projects that embrace, in addition to artistic research, also social and clinical research.
Since then, it has created over 40 artistic productions, presented on some of the most important stages in the artistic and performance scene: Scenario Pubblico, Aterballetto, Festival TenDance, Gender Bender, Festival ConFormazioni, Performare Festival, Peraspera Festival, Florence Dance Festival, Radialsystem (DE), Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (UK), Fre3 Bodies (ES), Zawirowania Dance Theatre (PL).
Since 2017, DNA has also oriented its production outside the places of choice of dance, expanding its boundaries towards exhibition centers and unconventional locations, in which it has created site-specific performance events.
Since 2019, it has also started community dance projects, which invest in the intergenerational dimension, in support of the elderly and in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
DNA is part of the Support ER network for the support of young authors.
Since 2016, DNA has directed D.R.OP. – Dance Research Opportunity, a professional training program on stage structured as a junior company.
In 2022, it is among the companies supported by MIC – Ministry of Culture and obtaines the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
