What is a city, what is Faenza beyond our idea of it?

Temperatures, smells, its lights at different times of the day, the air we breathe in its squares, is this the idea we have of it? And what about what simply happens, what about the fortuitous chance of a tangle of glances, of the flight of a crow, what about what happens every moment and – perhaps – never returns? Isn’t the city present in all this? Doesn’t its life flow in the veins of the unexpected?

The walk will be a secular ritual, even playful, that helps us try to open again to the perception of the present, buried and always possible in the childhood memories that each one of us holds in his or her heart

Sinking its antennae into an era shaken by precariousness and the fragile international geopolitical balance, which seems to hang by the thread of conflicts – visible and invisible – this work investigates the sense of fragility of the current condition and becomes the voice of a current feeling, of uncertainty as a new condition of life. Walking on this thin line, who or what controls the flow of events?

The work questions the role of luck and the human capacity to respond to events, exploring the relationship between vulnerability and action. Through a hybrid, post-human dance, Critters transforms the body into a metaphor: fragile, resilient, ambiguous. Using a dry branch and synthetic sounds, the performance builds an emotional landscape that speaks of the current human condition, suspended between control and abandonment to fate.
