DANCE, PERFORMING ARTS, MUSIC, THEATRE
This year’s theme, CONTRADICTIONS, emphasizes the dichotomy between the opportunity to continue dancing and hoping, and the instinct to let oneself drift away in these dark and uncertain times. We cannot ignore what is happening around us, but neither can we put aside our desire for beauty.
At WAM! Festival we will try again to inhabit the city with different bodies of all kinds. To celebrate our tenth anniversary, all the performances will be free of charge and there will be various workshops open to ALL CITIZENS.
This is our way to thank those our faithful audience and our new estimators.
In no particular order, we will have the extraordinary Silvia Gribaudi, Laura Moro and Franca Zagatti who will present the UNISON Practices, a conclusion and extension of the Anziano sarai TU! project! carried out during 2021 thanks to a crowdfunding campaign.
The young dancers Kate Pilbeam and Anna Clara Conti will inhabit and animate the windows of a shopping centre to disorientate and reorientate passers-by. The performing group Le Pratiche del Corpo will also be present.
Marco Chenevier, Océane Delbrel, Alessia Pinto and Marta Capaccioli with Compagnie Les 3 Plumes will continue their long search, which began in the summer after the pandemic, to regain possession of space and relationships. A journey that is taking the company to different cities, countries, and natural environments. On Sunday evening, the company will interact with the glorious band Musicanti di San Crispino.
D.R.OP., the youth company of DNA and heart of Alma PRO, a professional training centre in contemporary dance in Bologna, led by the artistic director Elisa Pagani, will perform with dancers Astrid Delombaerde, Sara Febert, Cecilia Franceschelli, Gaia Latorre, Melissa Salimbeni.
I Canti Orfici by Dino Campana according to Carmelo Bene, a tribute to the immense artist 20 years after his death, will be performed in the evocative Church of Santa Maria dell’Angelo.
