Angry Butterfly is an emblematic pop character, obsessed with the search for approval.

His glossy smile is kaleidoscopic and reflects a society where identity is manipulated and transformed to fit media expectations.

The multidisciplinary nature of the project explores the overlap between pop singer and jockey, both interdependent on external entities (audience and horse). This parallel evokes the imagery of the groom who tames young horses, symbolizing a pop identity tied to its audience in a relationship of mutual dependence.

Through a pop contemporaneity ridden by a saturation of images, Angry Butterfly is a show that wears the layered masks of a performative society. It speaks to us about the need to live up to a role, to seemingly invincible animals, and the attempts to reclaim the essence of one’s own image.

Admission €15 – valid for all evening performances

In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at Convento dell’Osservanza.
